The eMaster Kiln Controller

Web Based Kiln Controller

Acme Software Works has developed the XK series of Web Based Wireless Kiln Controllers. And is currently looking for marketing and distribution partners.

The eMaster is a stand alone wall mount kiln control that can be used to control any manual electric kiln. It can also be retrofitted to almost any electric kiln. The eMaster with it's touch screen interface is designed for the internet generation as well as those who want complete and accurate control of firings. There is web based interface which is accessed either by WiFi or directly connected to your local network. It can also be accessed with a smartphone. The interface provides the ability to start, stop and keep track of firing as well graphic recording of the firing. The eMaster has an automatic power fail recovery feature. It also has many optional features like per element failure detection and secondary temperature monitoring.

The eMaster was developed for a manufacturing operation and has been in use for six years. It has been modified over that time to address problems that naturally occur over the life of a product. In a manufacturing environment failed firings are costly and the eMaster has been tuned to minimize those costs.

Features

  • Custom PID

  • PID is a great general purpose control algorithm, but it makes no assumptions about the characteristics of an electric kiln. The eMaster tailors the control algorithm to the specifics of the electric kiln and gains maximum accuracy.

  • Alarms

  • Alarms and alerts for all faults and events can be sent to an email address or a text message to a mobile phone.

  • Amp/Hour Usage

  • Each firing gives a running total of the Amp/Hours used.

  • Full Featured Touchscreen

  • The Touchscreen shows current status in large characters that can be read across the room as well as two levels of firing details. There is even a graphic plot of the current firing. Loading programs and editing programs, both stored programs and the current firing, is available from the touch screen. The touch screen also provides everything needed to setup the network interfaces, security and alarms.

  • Logging

  • The eMaster plots each firing. The plot can be viewed from the touch screen, the web interface, and the mobile interface. The data is recorded in a raw text file that can be accessed from the web interface for detailed analysis. There is also a detailed firing log for each firing.

  • Diagnostics

  • The eMaster can detect element, thermocouple and relay failures.

  • Full Network Interface, Web and Mobile

  • The web interface allows control of all aspects the kiln firing. And mobile interface allows starting, stopping, editing, and modifying while firing any program. It should be noted that the eMaster can be setup as an "Access Point", a stand alone wireless system that can be isolated from the internet for added security. • Special Failure Recovery Features

  • Failures do not occur between firings, they occur in the middle of a firing. The eMaster can automatically recover from short power failures and has features for restarting firing with modifications to save firings from complete failure.
