PID is a great general purpose control algorithm, but it makes no assumptions about the characteristics of an electric kiln. The eMaster tailors the control algorithm to the specifics of the electric kiln and gains maximum accuracy.
Alarms and alerts for all faults and events can be sent to an email address or a text message to a mobile phone.
Each firing gives a running total of the Amp/Hours used.
The Touchscreen shows current status in large characters that can be read across the room as well as two levels of firing details. There is even a graphic plot of the current firing. Loading programs and editing programs, both stored programs and the current firing, is available from the touch screen. The touch screen also provides everything needed to setup the network interfaces, security and alarms.
The eMaster plots each firing. The plot can be viewed from the touch screen, the web interface, and the mobile interface. The data is recorded in a raw text file that can be accessed from the web interface for detailed analysis. There is also a detailed firing log for each firing.
The eMaster can detect element, thermocouple and relay failures.
The web interface allows control of all aspects the kiln firing. And mobile interface allows starting, stopping, editing, and modifying while firing any program. It should be noted that the eMaster can be setup as an "Access Point", a stand alone wireless system that can be isolated from the internet for added security. Here is a copy of the Web Manual: manual.pdf
Failures do not occur between firings, they occur in the middle of a firing. The eMaster can automatically recover from short power failures and has features for restarting firing with modifications to save firings from complete failure.
